If you’re seeing errors like:

  • “No license found. Please connect to the internet or check your license server.”
  • “License checkout timed out.”
  • ⚠️ “You are not licensed to use this product.”

Don’t worry — these are common Autodesk licensing errors that can be fixed with a few simple steps.

This guide works for: ✅ AutoCAD
✅ Revit
✅ Civil 3D
✅ 3ds Max
✅ Inventor
✅ Maya
…and other Autodesk software.

🔍 Why This Happens

These errors usually occur due to:

  • No internet connection or unstable Wi-Fi
  • Autodesk Desktop Licensing service not running
  • Corrupt license cache
  • Firewall or antivirus blocking access
  • Old or expired license files

🛠 Step-by-Step Fix

✅ 1. Restart Autodesk Licensing Services

  1. Press Win + R, type: CopyEditservices.msc
  2. Look for:
    • Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service
    • FlexNet Licensing Service
  3. Right-click → Restart both services

🔄 Then restart your PC and try launching AutoCAD or Revit again.

🧹 2. Delete Licensing Cache

  1. Open this folder: makefileCopyEditC:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdskLicensingService
  2. Delete the entire folder named “AdskLicensingService” or any temp/cache files inside it.
  3. Now go to: makefileCopyEditC:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services\
  4. Delete any files named LoginState.xml

💡 This resets corrupt license files and login issues.

🌐 3. Check Your Internet Connection

Make sure:

  • You are connected to a stable internet
  • No VPN or proxy is active
  • Try restarting your Wi-Fi or switching networks

🔥 4. Disable Firewall/Antivirus Temporarily

Sometimes your firewall or antivirus blocks Autodesk license checks.

✅ Try turning it off temporarily:

  • Windows Defender → turn off real-time protection
  • Third-party antivirus → turn off or add Autodesk folder to exceptions

Then restart Autodesk software and see if it works.

🌍 5. Log In to Your Autodesk Account

  1. Go to https://manage.autodesk.com
  2. Log in with your Autodesk ID
  3. Ensure your product license is active or assigned to you

Then open the software again — it should recognize your license.

🔄 6. Reinstall Autodesk Licensing Service

If none of the above work:

  1. Download the Autodesk Licensing Service Installer from the official Autodesk support page:
    🔗 Official Link
  2. Run the installer
  3. Restart your PC

Then relaunch your Autodesk product.

🧠 Bonus Tip: Use AutoCAD in Offline Mode

Once activated, you can use Autodesk software offline for up to 30 days. But make sure to log in once a month to renew.
